Veronica Cruz

Dr. Veronica Cruz received her Bachelor’s Degree with Honors from Texas A&M University in 2002 and then entered The College of Veterinary Medicine immediately after.  As a vet student, she worked two years at the world renowned Texas A&M GI Lab studying the impact of prebiotics and probiotics on idiopathic diarrhea in puppies and kittens. This experience created a deep appreciation and understanding of the role in gut health.  During her Vet School education,  she also was given the opportunity to see patients at the University of California, Davis’ Veterinary Teaching Hospital studying under the world’s best veterinarians in internal medicine, imagining and dentistry.

After graduating vet school in 2007 she completed and passed the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society’s basic course in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine and Acupuncture in 2008. More recently, she has become certified in Veterinary Spinal Manipulation Therapy and Reiki energy healing (<- for people and pets!).   After 17 years of practicing veterinary medicine Dr. Veronica Cruz decided to step away from her traditional role as small animal general practitioner and surgeon to focus on educating the public on the most important and effective methods of ensuring pets’ health.  Her decision to start Epiphany Vet Care came from a desire to nurture the human animal bond and empower pet owners to reclaim their pet’s health.

Currently, she spends her time caring for her senior Miniature Pinscher, Gordo, and traveling between Mexico City where her family home is & her own home on the South Side of Chicago.

When not working with pets, she enjoys gardening and art in all forms.
